
UFRAD ETHICS, ACCREDITATION AND REGULATION COMMITTEE HELD ITS FIRST MEETING
The UFRAD Ethics, Accreditation and Regulation Committee, established to promote ethical standards in the franchising sector, accredit systems, and enhance regulatory processes, held its first meeting online on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
The meeting was chaired by Committee President Erol Işık and Vice President Nezif Emek. Committee members Osman F. Bilge, Süleyman Soysal, İlhan Erkan, and Kemal Karadağ actively contributed to the discussions.
During the meeting, a comprehensive roadmap aimed at contributing to the sustainable development of the sector was agreed upon. The committee was structured into three main subcommittees: Ethics, Accreditation, and Regulation & Advocacy. Each subcommittee was assigned specific responsibilities and leadership roles.
Key decisions made at the meeting included:
- The preparation of a UFRAD Ethics Guide to instill core principles and values across the sector,
- The development of a reliable accreditation system for franchise brands and consultants,
- The implementation of a planned approach for monitoring regulations, preparing legislative proposals, and conducting advocacy activities,
- The transparent communication of committee activities to the public via the UFRAD website and social media channels.
The committee also adopted an implementation calendar spanning the first 12 months. In the upcoming period, the committee will focus on preparing key guidebooks, establishing evaluation systems, and launching initial accreditation practices.
